Smallest Horse in the world
在美國聖路易斯市鵝溪農場裏，5歲小馬薩姆比林娜取了個安徒生童話裏“拇指姑娘”的名字。它只有43厘米高，當與一匹普通大馬站在一起的時候，它就像是一只小狗。事實上，薩姆比林娜平時就喜歡住狗窩，也喜歡與狗做伴。
薩姆比林娜目前已被吉尼斯世界紀錄正式確認爲世界上最小的馬。

蜂鸟
蜂鸟是世界上最小的鸟类，大小和蜜蜂差不多，身体长度不过5厘米，体重仅2克左右，主要分布在南美洲和中美洲的森林地带。由于它飞行采蜜时能发出嗡嗡的响声，因而被人称为蜂鸟。 蜂鸟种类繁多，约有300多种，羽毛也有黑、绿、黄等十几种颜色，十分鲜艳，所以有“神鸟”、“彗星”、“森林女神”和“花冠”等称呼。 蜂鸟身体娇小，羽毛华丽，具有非凡的飞行本领。它的翅膀非常灵活，每秒钟能振动50——70次，飞行的速度很快，时速可达50公里，高度有四五千米。人们往往只听到它的声音，看不清它的身影。令人惊奇的是，蜂鸟心脏每分钟达到615次。它不仅飞的快，而且还能作长距离的飞行。有一种红胸蜂鸟，每年要两次飞800多公里。 蜂鸟在白花盛开、草木繁茂的季节外寻找食物，以吃花蜜和小昆虫为生。它长着一个针状形的长 ，细长的舌头也能够自如地伸缩。采集花蜜时，它先用长 将花蕊分开，然后把舌头伸进我、花蕊，吮吸甜滋滋的花蜜。它常常给山茶、贝母和倒挂金钟等植物授粉，是大自然中一位辛勤的耕耘者。 蜂鸟在树枝上造窝，鸟窝造型别致，做工精细，是用丝状物编织而成的，看上去就想悬挂在树枝上的一只精巧的小酒杯。雌性蜂鸟每次产卵一两枚，只有豆粒般大小，每枚重量仅0.克，大约200个蜂鸟蛋才有一个普通鸡蛋那么大。鸟卵孵化期为14—19天。小蜂鸟出生约20天后，就能飞出鸟窝觅食，开始独立的野外生活

The largest Ant
世界上最大只的蚂蚁是非洲的Driver Ant，学名Dorylus。这种蚂蚁头尾有4厘米长！像一支圆珠笔的盖子那么长！ 比它小一号的蚂蚁在澳洲昆士兰和新南威尔士北部，叫做公牛蚁（Bulldog Ant）。这种罕见蚁种的工蚁有3.7厘米。因为公蚁的上鄂较长，所以虽然大，但并不很笨重，如图所示。
